Hi, everybody! I'm Matt. I grew up in this area, and I believe good tech support should feel local and personal. Let me get straight to the point: my bread and butter is cybersecurity. With 15+ years in the industry, I've had deep exposure to an extensive variety of technology, frameworks, tools and methodologies that extend across, but are not limited to network/host/web/human/physical security, digital forensics and personnel training. I've work with clients ranging from startups, small businesses, large corporations and municipalities through to public utilities, government departments and more.

On the defensive side, I've helped organizations build security operations from the ground up to detect, respond to and mitigate cyber, social and physical threats. I've also done a considerable amount of work on the offensive side, working as a trusted advisor to perform the role of a 'bad guy' - finding and reporting the vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and general weaknesses that a client might have within their infrastructure, people and processes - before the real threat actors do. I've had the opportunity to train classes of students on defensive, offensive and forensics topics, which has helped me to hone the ability to explain technical processes and concepts in layman's terms to people of all ages.

The greatest joys in my career have been achieved through helping clients to be confident and assured that their systems and processes have been sufficiently hardened against external threats. Clients sleep better at night knowing they've implemented a defence-in-depth strategy, which, if they cannot completely stop an attacker (let's be realistic; there's no such thing as "100% secure"), they can at least slow them down and have more time to identify, contain and eradicate the threat, while confidently knowing that business operations can recover and continue as normal.

Although our offerings are primarily targeted towards small-to-midsize businesses, we do enjoy helping individuals who've run into various technical issues as well. In fact, many local people have reached out over the past few years for help with their computers, networks and devices, which was partially responsible for moving Red Rover Services from an idea to a business.
